What is Crow Wood Playscape?

The National Trust is developing proposals for a new play area in Crow Wood at Lyme Park.

The play area has been made possible thanks to £250,000 of funding from WREN, a not for profit business that awards grants to community projects across the UK on behalf of Waste Recycling Group (WRG).

The new play area will follow the 'Playscape' concept, whereby play opportunities will be offered throughout the woodland, and users will be able to engage with their natural surroundings through play.

By taking this approach, the new play area will sit sensitively within the historic Lyme Park landscape. It will also offer play features that stimulate imagination far more than a traditional playground would.

The Crow Wood playscape will be a sensory experience, offering play to children of all abilities, and giving the chance for parents and carers to engage with their children at play much more freely.

Groundwork Cheshire is managing this project in conjunction with the National Trust, and are inviting all Lyme Park visitors to get involved in the design process.
